WWE SmackDown opens with a graphic in memory of Ted Turner.

On May 6, 2025, Ted Turner passed away at the age of 87. Turner created the first 24-hour news station with CNN and was responsible for TNT and Cartoon Network as well.

The 5/9 edition of WWE SmackDown opened with a graphic for Turner.
