Brock Rechsteiner: Bron Breakker Really Convinced Me To Get Into The Wrestling Business, Once I’m Done Playing Football

Brock Rechsteiner says Bron Breakker convinced him to pursue wrestling.

In April, it was announced that Brock Rechsteiner had signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent. He recently took part in the New Orleans Saints rookie minicamp.

Speaking to WDSU-TV, Brock says that his dad, Scott Steiner’s, WWE Hall of Fame induction really inspired him. He plans to continue his football career as long as he can, but once he’s done, he’d pursue professional wrestling.

“It all comes with the territory, and I always liked watching him growing up. I love going back watching his old promos, his old wrestling videos, everything like that. It really inspired me when he got inducted to the [WWE] Hall of Fame back in Dallas. I think it’s 2022. I want to pursue football as long as I can, but once I’m done, I’ll get into wrestling too.”

While discussing Bron Breakker, Brock says that it was the former who really convinced him to give pro-wrestling a shot.

“I work out with him all the time back home. I go fish with him a lot because he moved back to Georgia. He really convinced me to, once I’m done playing football, get into the wrestling business.”

The New Orleans Saints rookie minicamp invitee then talked about the organization and his transition to playing wide receiver.

“I didn’t know much about it coming into it, but now that I’ve been here, I really enjoy it. It’s just an amazing opportunity for me, and I really like it here for sure. I just enjoy having the ball in my hands, just making plays. Me and my brother were basketball players growing up, too. My brother plays basketball at Kansas State. So I just think just being a playmaker, really.

Brock says he wrestled his dad growing up in their family’s basement wrestling room.

“We wrestled all the time. We have a wrestling room in our basement. Because he was a college wrestler at Michigan too. So we have a Michigan wrestling mat in our basement. We wrestled all the time. There was a lot of fights growing up between my brother and my dad.”

Brock’s cousin, Bron, is currently scheduled for a match against Seth Rollins at WWE Backlash. Read more about the event here.
