Bootleg Kev Says Jelly Roll Pushed To Be Involved In A ‘More Comedic’ Storyline For WrestleMania 42

Bootleg Kev discusses Jelly Roll’s recent involvement in WWE.
The popular country music star was a key part of the WrestleMania 42 feud between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. Roll was even involved in the match itself, as he was tasked with splashing Pat McAfee through the announce table.
While chatting with Swerve Strickland on the latest episode of his podcast, Bootleg Kev, a prominent media personality, spoke about Jelly Roll’s feelings towards being involved in a high profile feud.
“I’m really close to Jelly Roll. He was very self aware of that he was being pushed into a storyline that he probably didn’t need to be pushed into. He was pushing — he was being very vocal about wanting to be in an involved in a storyline that is still playing out currently that was more comedic. He was like, ‘Guys, if you put me into this thing, I promise you it’s going to cook. It’s going to fuck.’ I was there at SmackDown in Phoenix and I heard him having these convos with certain people at WWE. They still decided to — and look, if you’re him, you’re like, hey man, if you’re going to push me into the main event of WrestleMania, I’m not going to say no. But, I don’t think people are going to [like it].”
Jelly had some similar comments in a post-WrestleMania vlog, saying that he and Pat McAfee “had no business” being involved in the storyline. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
The ‘Need A Favor’ singer was speculated to be Danhausen’s tag team partner at WWE Backlash. Instead, he teamed with Minihausen to defeat The Miz and Kit Wilson.
