Tony Khan Says Bringing Minis To AEW Is ‘A Great Idea’ And ‘Something To Consider’

Tony Khan weighs in on the possibility of bringing mini wrestlers to AEW.

Mini wrestlers have been a staple of luchador culture and Mexican wrestling for decades, with Sky Low Low being the most popular of all-time and Mascarita Dorada and Microman gaining popularity in more recent years.

Kemalito and Kemonito are two popular stars in CMLL, and with CMLL’s partnership with AEW, Tony Khan was asked about bringing the minis to AEW.

“It’s a great idea. It’s a great thought. I have not thought a lot about it, but it’s a great thought and a good idea. It’s something for us to seriously consider. There is a big audience for them, they are very popular, and certainly, we can put it under consideration. It’s not something we’ve thought about or talked about doing, but it could be good. Before long, we’ll be back in Mexico, so you’ll see them when we go to Arena Mexico for Grand Slam Mexico,” he said at the Double or Nothing media scrum.

No date for Grand Slam Mexico has been announced.
