Mister Saint Laurent Opens Up About MLW Departure, Says He’s Still Friends With Court Bauer

Details about Mister Saint Laurent’s departure from MLW.

In early February, it was first reported by PWInsider that M.S.L. (Mister Saint Laurent) departed Major League Wrestling. He worked behind the scenes and served as an on-screen manager for the organization.

In April, Saint Laurent was named the President of Lingerie Fighting Championships. While speaking to Jason Powell of the Pro Wrestling Boom Podcast, Saint Laurent opened up about his departure from MLW and the opportunity with Lingerie Fighting Championships.

He stated that there is no bad blood with MLW founder Court Bauer. M.S.L. said if MLW ever reached out to him, he’d be there to help in a heartbeat.

“Fair question, and not a complicated answer. No heat. I literally was texting with Court (Bauer) yesterday. Still friends; was just a business thing for me. I did all that I could do in MLW as a performer. I was color commentator on multiple national TV networks for them. Last year, the hottest heel act in the company was me managing The Skyscrapers and we won the World Tag Titles, and there really was nothing else for me to do on camera, and I kind of got phased out in that way and had had my run, and this L.F.C. (Lingerie Fighting Championships) thing came up where it’s an opportunity, number one, to be the President and be the lead dog, instead of second banana which is interesting to me. To be back on camera, be the face of this thing, the voice of this thing, the advocate of this sport, the Dana White of L.F.C. so to speak, which was interesting, and then look, I’m a married man. I take care of my wife and financially, it was very attractive so, it was no one specific factor. But just looking where I want my career to go after 28 years in combat sports. I really just believe so strongly in the future of Lingerie Fighting. I know that that sounds crazy to the world, of why would you leave what you had to do this? But when I look at the data and I dug real deep into the data, MLW’s most successful video on YouTube was six or seven hundred thousand views which is incredible, and I’m rooting for them every day and I hope we’re sitting here a year from now and MLW’s doing millions of views. But the most successful YouTube video for L.F.C. is 30 million views, and so the chance to just reach a whole new audience, to be able to be a performer and work behind the scenes which is really what I love — to do both — and then the money and all that. You add it all up and it just felt like the right move for me in my career at this time but look, MLW could call in six months and want me to fill in on a commentary spot or something. I’d do it in a heartbeat. Nobody’s got more MLW love in their heart than I do.” Saint Laurent was asked about the timeline of receiving the offer from L.F.C. and choosing to step away from MLW. He replied, “The timeline is a little fuzzy. I wouldn’t say that I quit one for the other. But I became aware of this and was curious about it and then, somebody that had worked for them previously had kind of hinted, like, ‘Hey, if you were available, what would you think about running this thing?’ And so I kind of had to run a calculation in my head because it wouldn’t have been fair to MLW for me to just, like, ‘Hey, you’re managing Bishop Dyer next week’ and then I just vanish. So, it was kind of a gradual phase-out. The fans saw… I was written off TV. So there’s no line in the sand timeline. It was kind of just a blurring of the worlds until the move felt right.”

Lingeiere Fighting Championships’ next show is scheduled for July 4th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
