Carlito Says He’s Focusing On An Exit Plan From In-Ring Wrestling

Debuting in 1999, Carlito has been an active in-ring performer for close to three decades. At the age of 47, he’s still active in the ring, working nearly three matches a month.

Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Carlito discussed his in-ring future and how much longer he wants to continue.

“Oh yeah, I’m getting there. I still got a little bit left in the tank. Not that I don’t want to do it anymore, just focusing more on the exit plan,” he said.

Asked what the exit plan looks like, he replied, “It looks pretty good, man. The WWE run helped out a lot with that, with the retirement plan. So, yeah, a couple more years, and then I can ride off into the sunset.”

Asked if it could be five or ten more years, he said, “No, probably around 5. 5 should be the goal.”

Carlito departed WWE in June 2025 after his contract expired. Fans can learn more about his exit by clicking here.
