Tom Hannifan Says Mike Tenay Told Him That Corey Graves Is The Best Color Commentator Since Bobby Heenan

Graves receives high praise from Tom Hannifan and Mike Tenay.

TNA Wrestling lead commentator Tom Hannifan stopped by Busted Open and was asked to rank his favorite wrestling commentators.

Along the way, he spoke highly of his former broadcast partner in WWE, Corey Graves. Hannifan does not think there’s a better commentator than Graves. He went on to share that he had a conversation with TNA Hall of Famer Mike Tenay, who expressed his opinion that Graves is the best color commentator since Bobby ‘The Brain’ Heenan.

“I wanna say this about (Corey) Graves: There is no better wrestling commentator, and that’s any position — wrestling commentator — play-by-play or color — walking the planet today. The stuff that he accomplished this past weekend for AAA, Clash in Italy, then Raw, the travel included. All the travel that he does period, and by the way, he does a lot of stuff away from WWE. He is the best wrestling commentator walking the planet today. So, it’s impossible to put him in a category. I saw an article recently where somebody compared him to Mike Tenay, and I was like, ‘I’ve spoken to Mike Tenay and Tenay has said Graves is the best color commentator since Brain.’ So it’s like, who do you compare him to? Do you compare him to Brain? Do you compare him to Tenay? I don’t know what the answer is but he’s unique.”

Hannifan was on the call for the 6/4 TNA Thursday Night iMPACT on AMC. The promotion is inching towards the Slammiversary pay-per-view on June 28th.
