Ken Anderson: Vince McMahon Told Me To Stop Being So Entertaining

Ken Anderson recalls Vince McMahon asking him to stop being so entertaining.

At one point, Ken Anderson was a popular figure in the wrestling scene. His entrance was over with the fans, and they also loved to hear what he had to say.

On the Tagging in with Chris Harris podcast, the host, Aaron, asked Anderson if anybody mentioned his promos were very reminiscent of Hollywood actor Jim Carrey.

“I’ve never heard anybody say it other than me myself. I’ve noticed it. Jim Carrey was always one of my favorite performers. Now when I watch my old stuff back, it’s cringy to me. It was too much. That’s sort of what got me to the dance in the first place. Then when I got there, Vince was like, ‘Stop doing that. Stop being so entertaining. Stop being so over the top.’ I was like, ‘What are you talking about?’ It was really hard to wrap my head around, ‘Okay, now I’m supposed to do this differently. Well, that’s what’s made me, me.’ It took a really long time for me to figure out exactly what he wanted that I understand it now.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Anderson explains how he came up with his mic drop entrance in WWE. Fans can read his comments here
