Mick Foley Says He Will Talk To Darby Allin About Saving Stuff For PPVs

Darby Allin gives 110% every time he’s in the ring, whether it’s television or a pay-per-view. Many have questioned the long-term health of Allin given his style, but he has shown no sign of slowing down or want to slow down.
Mick Foley made a career of giving 110% every time he was in the ring no matter the situation, and has had a number of surgeries and mobility issues over the years stemming from his style.
Speaking to Ariel Helwani, Foley was asked if he had spoken to Darby about his style and potentially slowing down.
“I will have that conversation. I didn’t think the time to have that conversation was hours before his biggest match. I’ve been told people have had that conversation with him and he says, ‘Everybody does their best stuff on pay-per-view, I owe it to my fans to do it on every televised event.’ I’ll try to talk to Darby. I will have that talk to him and try to find out…there has to be another gear where he can allude to the things and give people 80% of what you usually do, knowing the majority of the fans will be thankful for what he gives them and they will understand they might have to wait until a special event to get the 100% Darby. I understand many men have tried and failed, but I’ll give him the best advice I possibly can,” said Foley.
Foley and Allin were on-screen together at AEW Double or Nothing during the Buy In as Foley gave Allin a pep talk ahead of his match against MJF.
Elsewhere during the interview, Foley praised MJF. You can find his full comments here.
