Taz Says It Was His Idea To Change His Ring Gear In WWE, ‘I Didn’t Want My In-Ring Persona Tarnished Any More’

Taz has always been associated with orange, making the color famous in wrestling circles during his time in ECW with his orange and black singlet and branding.
In WWE, he ended up switching things, moving away from his trademark black and orange singlet to wearing a black shirt and black pants, with some orange trim.
Asked why he made the change, Taz wrote on social media, “It was my idea. I’ve said this on my podcast years ago… I did not want my in ring persona tarnished anymore than they tarnished me. Therefore, I wanted to change my complete look before I retired from the ring. I didn’t want them to have that ECW TAZ look on their programming anymore.”

He did note that WWE did give him a second career as a broadcaster, giving him proper training for the position.
He is currently signed to AEW, where he works as a color commentator on AEW Dynamite.
