Chad Gable Shares That He Underwent ‘Bonus Surgery’ For 2025 Injury

Chad Gable documents his recovery.

Chad Gable has been back in the mix of WWE programming since January. He had been out of action since mid-2025 due to needing shoulder surgery.

He documented his recovery and is releasing a multi-part video series about it on YouTube. In part two, Gable shared that he needed a ‘bonus surgery.’

“We’re done. Surgery went well. Fixed it up just like we were supposed to but, while Dr. Dugus was in there, he found the bicep tendon at the shoulder was pretty much completely shredded to a degree that he did not know because the images do not always show everything, so when he went in there, the bicep tendon was actually a lot worse than he thought it was so, he repaired that as well since he was in there anyway so, a little bonus surgery for Gable here.”

Gable wrapped up his run as the Original El Grande Americano in AAA when he lost a Mask versus Mask match to El Grande Americano (Ludwig Kaiser) at Noches de Los Grandes.

Gable has since returned to WWE’s main roster, and he’s been apologizing to the luchadores he disrespected during his run as Original El Grande Americano.
