Ryan Clancy Says He’s Well Ahead Of Schedule After Knee Injury, But No Return Timeframe Set Yet
Ryan Clancy gives an update on his recovery.
In April, Ryan Clancy relinquished his Wrestling Open Championship. Later, he announced that he suffered an ACL and medial meniscus tear.
Speaking with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful recently, Clancy was asked how he’s feeling physically.
“We’re still a ways away for sure, but I like to think that life gives us all opportunities for growth at every crossroads, is just an opportunity to learn. So I’m well ahead of schedule. Don’t know what timeframe is looking like for return just yet, but each day I feel better and better.”
Clancy says he can do squats and step-ups and isn’t wearing any brace, but there’s still time before a return.
“So I just saw my surgeon yesterday. We’re about seven weeks. So almost two months post surgery and I’m already doing some squats and some step ups and I’m off any brace or anything like that. So to the naked eye, I might seem somewhat normal despite a little bit of a limp, but we got a ways to go.”
