Cody Rhodes: “If I Was To Sign A New Contract, Maybe It Would Be For Five Years”

Insight into Cody Rhodes’ thoughts about how much longer he plans to wrestle.
On the newest episode of The Ariel Helwani Show, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes joined via video as he is on WWE’s European tour.
As the chat moved along, Rhodes expressed that he doesn’t think he’ll be wrestling in 10 years’ time. He was asked about the next five years and said that sounds good. He went on to state that if he were to sign a new contract, it would maybe be for five years.
“I do think it does take a toll, at a certain point and I don’t think in 10 years I’ll still be going. I think there will be another QB1 of WWE at that point.” Rhodes was asked to clarify if he feels he’ll be done wrestling in 10 years, and he replied, “As far as in-ring competition and I don’t think that’s breaking news to anyone. Turning 41 in a week and I feel the best I’ve ever felt as an athlete, but I do think in 10 years, I will no longer be wrestling bell to bell. No.” Rhodes was asked about five years, and he said, “I think five years would be a, you know… Five years sounds good. Like, if I was to sign a new contract, maybe it would be for five years,” Rhodes smiled.
Rhodes is on the record stating that the next contract he signs with WWE will be his last.
