Cris Cyborg Retirement Fight Set For August 22

Cris Cyborg is set to call it a career.

The PFL announced that Cris Cyborg will face Ketlen Vieira in her retirement fight on August 22. Cyborg will defend her Women’s Featherweight Championship in the bout.

The fight will serve as the main event for PFL Tampa, which takes place at the Benchmark International Arena.

Cyborg, 41, began her career on May 17, 2005, and is one of the most decorated female fighters in MMA history. She lost her debut fight, but went unbeaten in her next 21 fights, including victories over Gina Carano, Holly Holm, Tonya Evinger, and more.

She was the first-ever Strikeforce Women’s Featherweight World Champion and first-ever Invicta FC Featherweight World Champion.

She won the UFC Women’s Featherweight World Championship in 2017, making two successful title defenses before losing to Amanda Nunes, the only other loss of her career.

She went on to win the Bellator Women’s Featherweight World Championship and PFL Women’s Featherweight World Championship.
