Adam Copeland: 95% Of The Matches I Want Are Still Out There

Adam Copeland still has a lot to check off his bucket list.

For the past year, Copeland has been involved in the tag team division with Christian Cage, winning the AEW Tag Team Titles with his longtime friend. He hasn’t wrestled a true singles match (sorry, Stokely) since April 2025.

“About 95% of the matches I want are still out there, which is pretty cool,” Copeland told Shakiel Mahjouri of CBS Sports.

Copeland named first-time matches against Will Ospreay, Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, Kyle Fletcher and “Hangman” Adam Page, and a tag team bout against the Young Bucks as potential future matchups.

Teaming with Christian has helped preserve his body, and a leg injury combined with his filming schedule has changed his retirement plans.

“The amazing part here is that Tony [Khan] and I sit down and we map away to try and pull it all off, and he’s understanding of that too, which is really nice to be able to juggle two careers, because I never did this before,” he said.

Copeland and Christian will defend the AEW Tag Team Titles against The Dogs (Clark Connors & David Finlay) at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
