CM Punk Replaces Cody Rhodes, Defeats Sami Zayn To Win Undisputed WWE Championship On WWE Raw
CM Punk is back.
This week’s episode of WWE Raw was supposed to be headlined by a Undisputed WWE Championship match between Sami Zayn and Cody Rhodes. That match was cancelled after Rhodes was attacked by Gunther at the start of the show.
Near the end of the broadcast, Nick Aldis informed Adam Pearce that he secured a replacement for Rhodes in the title bout. That replacement was revealed to be a returning CM Punk.
In the end, Punk was able to upset Zayn, ending his reign at the 10 day mark. The pinfall finish came after Punk nailed Zayn with a Helluva Kick and his Go To Sleep finisher.

This is Punk’s first WWE Championship victory since 2011, when he held the belt for 434 days.
