Jeff Jarrett has discussed the origins of a phrase he would become known for in the term ‘slap nuts,’ crediting a family member for the phrase.

Throughout Jarrett’s lengthy journey in the world of professional wrestling, he has worked as both a babyface and a heel but one thing that has followed him throughout his career, is his usage of the phrase ‘slap nuts’ for people he isn’t the biggest fan of.

While speaking in a recent Dark Side Of The Ring Q and A in New York, Jeff Jarrett reflected on how he came to use the term.

“Jim Cornette talked about my grandmother, Christine Jarrett, so famous promoter, but she had a saying, and she, as all of us get a little bit older, her patients are drawing thinner and thinner. She used to call people slappies, and I’m like, Tini, what’s a slappy? Well, that’s somebody who knows more and more about less and less. We would call it a complete bullshit artist. Tini had, he’s a slappy, but it’s somebody who runs their mouth, slaps their gums together. So just, I added nuts. It was the Attitude Era.”

Jarrett recently noted that he’d be interested in purchasing TNA. You can read more about that here.
