MJF says that Kevin Knight made himself a star at AEW Double Or Nothing when he attacked Darby Allin, reminding him of himself.
At AEW Double Or Nothing earlier this year, Kevin Knight would seemingly come to the aid of Darby Allin after MJF would stand over Darby following their AEW World Title match, before turning heel by landing a huge frog splash on Allin while he was being stretchered out of the ring.
While speaking to Undisputed in a new interview, MJF spoke about Kevin Knight’s recent heel turn at Double Or Nothing, noting that he made himself a star.
“Kevin Knight, in that moment, he made himself a star–and he didn’t give a shit what people thought about him. That reminded me of a young MJF. However, that doesn’t excuse how much of a little shit he was the following Wednesday when I tried to give him kudos for showing respect to The Big Hebrew. At the end of the day, it was a fine moment for him. It was important for the evolution of Kevin Knight, and it was important for the evolution of AEW. But yes, I did have the match of the night, and I did become a three-time world champion at the age of 30. That puts me on a list of only eight people, and pro wrestling has been around since the 1800s.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, MJF spoke about Darby Allin having heart. You can read more about that here.
