Je’Von Evans Didn’t Know ‘Papa Punk’ Was Returning On WWE Raw, Shares His Reaction To Punk’s WWE Title Victory

Je’Von Evans says he had to be a fan when CM Punk returned to WWE Raw this week.

Originally, Cody Rhodes was scheduled to challenge Sami Zayn for the WWE Championship on the 7/6 WWE Raw. But Gunther attacked him earlier on the show, and he couldn’t wrestle. Nick Aldis found a replacement for Cody, who turned out to be CM Punk. In the main event, Punk defeated Zayn for the WWE Title.

Speaking on ROAR Around The Ring, Je’Von was asked about Punk’s return and his reaction to his WWE Title victory.

“Crazy. So, I didn’t even know he was there, and then they did the gate. I was like ‘Yo, Papa Punk, he’s back.’ Then I went out there to watch the match. The energy was so high, I couldn’t go and stay in the back to watch it. I had to go out there and actually be a fan. Sometimes we have to be fans, that really helps us out. The energy was crazy, and when he won, I went crazy. I was like, ‘Oh my god.’ I started running, it was insane. It was great, man. I’m so happy for him, and I’m happy that he’s back.”
