In 2009, Shida would be a budding actress who would be cast in a movie about pro wrestling and as a result, began training with Emi Sakura, leading to her becoming a full time professional wrestler.
While speaking about her previous acting career on Close Up with Renee Paquette, Hikaru Shida spoke about leaving the world of acting for pro wrestling, noting that she knew she wanted to quit acting after filming a movie.
“After that, I had, I had to ask Emi Sakura because she was my teacher. So I had to ask, please let me, let me keep doing wrestling because before I watched the movie, I already decided when I’m going to quit. Yeah, she was great as a person. I- the first impression I felt, I never can be friends with her, but as a teacher, as a teacher, she was kind of (a) genius, I think.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Shida spoke about potentially returning to CMLL. You can read more about that here.
