Nick Aldis Costs GUNTHER & Sami Zayn Match At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event
Nick Aldis gets revenge on GUNTHER.
The main event of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event was Sami Zayn and GUNTHER versus Cody Rhodes and Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk.
The stipulation was that if Zayn and GUNTHER won, they would be added to the Undisputed WWE Title match between Punk and Rhodes at SummerSlam.
The backend of the tag bout saw GUNTHER hit Rhodes with the title belt. He then powerbombed Rhodes and waited for another referee to run to the ring as the assigned official was down on the outside.
While the new official was making the count, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis emerged and pulled the referee out of the ring. Aldis then hit GUNTHER with the belt, and Rhodes went on to pin GUNTHER to win the match for himself and Punk.
GUNTHER and Aldis have been at odds, and it picked up when they had a physical altercation at Night of Champions. On SmackDown, GUNTHER choked Aldis out.
