Brian Kendrick Recalls Eddie Guerrero Helping Him Out Early On In His WWE Career

Brian Kendrick recalls watching and learning from Eddie Guerrero in the early days of his career in WWE, including advice he received.

Eddie is one of the most iconic wrestlers of all time, having tragically passed too soon in the mid 2000s. For one talent breaking through the ranks at the time, Eddie would prove to be pivotal in their growth as a performer.

While speaking to Southys Wrestling Media in a new interview, Brian Kendrick was asked about Eddie Guerreo, reflecting on the ‘coolest move’ he’s ever seen.

“Okay, I think the coolest move I’ve ever seen would have been him and Rey Mysterio when Rey was wearing that purple Riddler outfit, and he did that knuckle lock up into the top ropes into a moonsault into a DDT. It was the most amazing thing. I still think it’s the coolest outside of some more modern luchador stuff, which is just hard to wrap your head around.”

Kendrick would also be asked about working with Eddie in the ring, noting that he almost did get the chance when he was 22.

“Never, never, never. I was booked for one match on a house show and he got sick. I would have been 22 years old at the time maybe, and that was as close as it got. But I was lucky enough that he was generous with his time and would help out here and there. Certainly with advice. A little bit inside the ring too before shows. Not heaps, but advice plenty.”
