Kurt Angle believes that his neck injuries were the reason Team Angle didn’t survive long enough despite his belief in the faction.

Team Angle was a faction made up of Angle, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin in the early to mid 2000s. However, the faction would suffer due to Kurt Angle’s neck injuries, and the faction would middle out until Benjamin and Haas would become ‘The World’s Greatest Tag Team.’

While speaking during the latest episode of WWE Vault’s Photo Shoot, Kurt Angle spoke about Team Angle, noting his belief that his neck injuries were the reason that the faction ‘didn’t survive long enough.’

“Wow, Team Angle didn’t survive long enough. I think it had a lot to do with my neck injuries. We were on fire, we were winning titles. Team Angle was getting really hot as the top heel faction. and then neck injuries occurred, and then when I came back, they wanted me against them. Team Angle could have gone for years. It was that hot. It just kind of sucks it didn’t.”

Elsewhere in the same interview, Kurt reflected on Brock Lesnar’s bad landing on a Shooting Star attempt at WrestleMania 19. You can read more about that here.
