Maya World Discusses TBS Title Win, Would Like To Face Athena At AEW All In 2026
Maya World discusses her title win.
For the first time in her run with All Elite Wrestling, Maya World is a champion. She defeated Hikaru Shida for the TBS Championship at the Redemption pay-per-view.
After the show, World took to the post-show media scrum and commented on her title win.
“You know, almost,” World responded when asked if the TBS Title win has hit her. “I mean, I’m definitely gonna go celebrate after this but, no, it has a little bit. I just keep seeing the graphic and I’m like, ‘That’s insane. I can’t believe that’s me.’ But, I’m just really grateful for everything. AEW is such a great place and I’m just glad that, you know, Tony (Khan), you believed in me so much and now I’m here and I did it and the future is now.”
Following up on that, she was asked who she would like to face at All In on August 30th. She named ROH Women’s World Champion Athena as a potential opponent.
“I feel like my story with Athena isn’t done. I would love to face Athena. But whoever, whoever. Anybody can step up… But Athena for sure.”
World is still in a tag team with Hyan. The duo was signed to AEW in December 2025.
