Gunther Defeats Nick Aldis By Submission At WWE SummerSlam
Gunther submits Nick Aldis at WWE SummerSlam.
Nick Aldis made his WWE in-ring debut at this year’s WWE SummerSlam against Gunther. Aldis hadn’t wrestled a match in three years before this.
Aldis used “Morning Glory” by Oasis as his theme song for this match.
While he got a lot of offense against The Ring General, the bout ended in Gunther’s favor. The ending sequence of this match saw Gunther try to put Aldis into the sleeper hold, but Aldis escaped to put him in the sleeper hold instead.

The Career Killer escaped with a suplex and then hit a powerbomb for the cover. Aldis kicked out, and then Gunther wore him down with a couple of elbows to his neck. He then submitted Aldis with the sleeper hold.
Following the match, Aldis shared a moment with his wife, Mickie James, and son in the ring.
