Brooks Jensen: I Was Hoping To See More Of Our Current Talent Show Some Appreciation For Dory Funk Jr.

Brooks Jensen was looking for more from his peers after the passing of Dory Funk Jr.

Dory Funk Jr sadly passed away on Tuesday, August 4, at the age of 85 years old.

While many wrestlers around the world paid tribute to Dory on social media, NXT superstar Brooks Jensen was hoping more of his NXT peers would pay tribute to the legend.

“From holding the NWA world title for four and a half years to having his last match at 83, Dory Funk Jr. was not only a technical wizard, a great human being, but a pioneer for what this great sport evolved into. Anytime we would run our NXT Live Events in Citrus Springs, Dory would be there watching us compete and I would pick his brain anytime I had the chance. Thoughts and prayers for the Funk family and friends,” he initially wrote.

He later wrote, “Ngl I was hoping to see more of our current talent in pro wrestling to show some appreciation for a pioneer like Dory Funk Jr.”

Jensen has been vocal in his support of old school wrestling and paying tribute to legends.
