At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026, a multi man tag match would take place between Mark Briscoe and MJF’s teams, with Darby featuring as part of the match. During the bout, he would take a spot that would involve MJF flipping him, with Allin landing face first in a pile of thumbtacks, a spot that drew wincing reactions from many AEW fans at the time. Now, Darby has shared that he took the spot on no sleep.

While speaking to Fox5 Las Vegas, Darby Allin spoke about the spot, noting that he did it on no sleep and considers it his honeymoon.

“That’s pretty funny because I got married on a Saturday. Yes, I got married on a Saturday and Sunday was the show, no sleep, getting thrown face first into thumbtacks. No, no, I always rock the face paint. Yeah, that was my honeymoon was spent face down in the thumbtacks.”

Elsewhere in the same interview, Darby spoke about potentially doing a stunt involving The Sphere. You can read more about that here.
