Carmelo Hayes Names Shawn Michaels, RVD And More As His Favorite Wrestlers As A Kid: Those Guys Were Superheroes To Me

Carmelo Hayes names his favorite WWE Wrestlers as a kid, noting that those guys were ‘superheroes’ to him.

The comparison of pro wrestlers with superheroes is not a new one, as the larger than life aspect of the characters as well as the natural fight between good and evil (or faces and heels) being natural similarities between the two genres of combat.

While speaking to WBZ News Boston in a new interview, Carmelo Hayes was asked about the wrestlers that he took to as a young fan of professional wrestling, comparing the likes of Shawn Michaels, Eddie Guerrero, RVD and Rey Mysterio to superheroes.

“So I liked Shawn Michaels, Eddie Guerrero, RVD, Rey Mysterio. I had a group of guys that I was just like, I could see myself in their shoes. There’s a lot of kids now, you know, like superheroes, right? Those guys were superheroes to me. That was my Batman, and that was my Superman and Spider-Man.”
