Steph De Lander: Izzy Moreno, Brittnie Brooks, B3CCA, & J-Rod Are Indie Names That Are Going To Make It

Steph De Lander has high praise for a number of independent names.

De Lander has frequented the indie scene for the majority of her career, allowing her to share the ring with many of the industry’s top names. In a new interview with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, SDL first took a moment to praise Izzy Moreno after recently sharing the ring with her in a three way match.

“Let me say this, just speaking of Izzy, I wrestled Izzy this past weekend. Holy shit, my dude. I’ve never really met—I don’t even know if I’ve met [her], I think I’ve met her in passing at shows, but never really spoken to her, I definitely haven’t worked with her. That kid has an understanding of wrestling so far
beyond her years. It’s insane. I can just go on forever. Like there’s not enough time in the interview for me to put her over as much as I want to. But I said to Mance in the car on the way home, I go, ‘How the fuck
is she so good so early?’ Mance said, ‘Because she is a huge fan of this shit. She grew up watching it and
she subconsciously picked up a bunch of shit when she was watching the NXT girls and that whole era
that she was a fan of.’ I was like, ‘Wow, I’m sure that is part of it.’ Izzy is absolutely incredible. She’s
gonna be a star.”

Brittnie Brooks was the next person on De Lander’s list. She praised Brooks for working really hard, looking awesome, and being consistent in the ring.

“Brittnie Brooks is one of those sleeper talents that is so consistently everywhere and awesome and works
really hard, has a great attitude, looks awesome, is so consistent in the ring, does all the extra promos,
social media, has a merch table as big as mine. She does every single thing and wrestling is one of those
things where some people have to just work a little bit harder before they get that shot. I’m seeing people
get tryouts and big opportunities and I’m sitting here going, ‘When the fuck is someone gonna pull the
trigger on Brittnie?’ When I worked at TNA, every two weeks I would go, ‘Brittnie Brooks, Brittnie Brooks,, Brittnie Brooks.’ I would say it all the time. But she will 100% be on TV and make a lot of money. I think, unfortunately for her, she’s just gonna have to grind it out a little bit longer than everyone else. But, honestly, that makes for the sweetest story at the end of it. So I know she will be more than fine.”

Steph De Lander then praised B3CCA, saying that she’s a trailblazer for the industry.

“Another one is B3cca. I can’t even tell you how many girls I’ve seen just straight up rip B3cca’s shit. I text
her all the time. She is a fucking trailblazer, the things that she does creatively no one else does. No one
else can keep up with her as far as the videos and the songs and the promos and her looks and everything
that she does, and then that’s not even taking into consideration once she gets in the ring and she’s banging out 450s with no effort. B3cca is insane and again I think it’s another one of those things that the right place at the right time, B3cca will be on TV.”

To round out the topic, SDL said that J-Rod is “literally built for TV wrestling”.

“Then the other one is J-Rod. Again, I’ll put J-Rod over to anyone that’ll listen. I’ve reached out to multiple
people at multiple companies telling them that they should already have signed her. She’s a fucking star. I
know she just had a tryout. I’m really hoping that they pick her up. If not this one, I’m sure they will soon.
She’s literally built for TV wrestling. So yeah, those are my hot picks right now on the indies.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Lander talked about working with names like Megan Bayne and Indi Hartwell. Check out her full comments by clicking here.
