Matt Hardy Recalls Vince McMahon Yelling At Sean O’Haire After Match With The Hardys

Matt Hardy recalls one of Vince McMahon’s tantrums.

The Hardys squared off with the duo of Sean O’Haire and Chuck Palumbo on a number of occasions throughout 2001. Three of these matches were untelevised house show bouts. As for the other two matches, one took place on SmackDown while the other aired on Jakked.

On the latest episode of his Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy podcast, Hardy recalled Vince McMahon getting furious with Sean O’Haire after a match.

“I know there was a time where we were having a match with Sean O’Haire. He was teaming with [Chuck] Palumbo. I remember that happened and we were in there and it was one of the first times Vince said, ‘Let me know.’ He said, ‘Let me know what you think about these guys, if they’re worth investing in, I want to see what your take is on them.’ I’ll never forget, we had worked them on a house show and I said, well, one thing I’m worried about with TV is just, we worked [O’Haire] on a house show and he was kind of lost, he wasn’t sure what we were doing. He body slammed me three times back to back, which I’m like, why are you giving me all these unnecessary bumps? There was a point where allowed Sean O’Haire to do this one time and he’s like, what are you thinking? You’re three times the size of Jeff Hardy and Jeff Hardy does that, you’re never going to do it better than him. It’s never going to look any good, you don’t need to be doing that, you’re way too big to be doing that so just cut that shit out. That was following one of the matches that we had, which I remember he did that and made a point to say, you’re three times bigger than he is and yours is never going to be better than his, so why the hell are you doing it? Get your own shit.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Matt Hardy talked about The Hardys possibly chasing the AAA Tag Team Championships. Check out his full comments on the matter by clicking here.
