Uhaa Nation Discusses Nigerian Royalty Character In WWE: “It Kind Of Turned Into Something Else”

Uhaa Nation speaks about the character he portrayed in WWE.

For the last 12 years of his career, Uhaa Nation a.k.a. Apollo Crews was under contract with WWE. His time with the company came to an end in April 2026 when he was part of a group of talent exits.

He spoke about his time with the company while doing a virtual signing for K & S WrestleFest. He discussed the ‘Nigerian Royalty’ character that led him to an Intercontinental Championship run.

“It did start off as a Nigerian Prince. It all started with me wanting to get back in touch with my roots. My parents are actually Nigerian so… I was born here in the United States. My parents didn’t speak the language growing up so, I thought it’d be cool to actually tell this story of me actually getting in touch back with my roots but it kind of turned into something else… Which I ended up having fun with it.”

Nation’s first match post-WWE was for TNA Wrestling at Slammiversary. To read what he had to say about the appearance, click here.
