LaBron Kozone reflects on facing off with Jake Doyle at Deadlock Pro Wrestling’s final event in December of last year.

In December of last year, Kozone would compete on the final event for Deadlock Pro Wrestling, and would become the DPW World Champion at the event, defeating Jake Doyle at the event.

While speaking to Fightful’s In The Weeds in a new interview, LaBron Kozone reflected on facing off with Jake Doyle, then Jake Something, at Deadlock’s final event.

“I love Deadlock Pro Wrestling very much. That was the last show that they did. That match was very special to me. I love Jake Something. He is a phenomenal wrestler. Had a lot of good times even going into Japan. Anytime me and Jake’s in the ring is always a good showdown. We’ve probably been in the ring maybe four times and every single one of those has been a blast. I was very shocked by a lot of it. It was kind of when we heard the news about it closing down, I know I didn’t see it coming, so mentally, emotionally, it was very tough because, nobody knew what their future was gonna go. Then it’s like all the pressure of like, you’re the main event of the last DPW show. In my mind, it was the best promotion in the world. So, it’s a lot of pressure to go on like that. In spite of what happens and how things go, when the bell rung and then I see people on their feet jumping up and down with tears in their eyes, you know, it’s like, yeah, it was very rewarding, and just to have that moment with Jake and with the locker room and with the promoters after that, you know, I couldn’t write it. It was just something you had to be there to feel.”

Elsewhere in the same interview, Kozone spoke about Je’Von Evans’ wanting pay him back for training him with a marquee match. You can read more about that here.
