Rey Fenix Comments On Facing Penta In #1 Contender’s Tourney, Says He’ll Be Happy Regardless Of The Result

Coming up on the August 31st Monday Night Raw is the final of the #1 contender’s tournament to determine who will challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on Raw in Mexico City.

The tourney finals will see a clash of the Lucha Brothers as Penta will square off against his brother, AAA World Cruiserweight Champion Rey Fenix.

Fenix appeared on Busted Open to discuss the upcoming bout and said that when he and Penta were kids, they used to talk about facing each other in WWE. Fenix added that regardless of the result, he’ll be happy.

“I am so proud about him, and all his hard work he does… The opportunity is once in a lifetime. We understand, so like, my brother understand the positon we are now. I totally understand… If my brother win the match, I will feel proud about my job. I know I think every time I step in the ring, I always try to do my best, and of course this is another match I have to put the double energy, my soul, my body, because this is not only a match. This is a dream. This is a dream come true by two brothers that years ago, almost 22 years ago, we took together and we know we have that dream and we used to play wrestling in my parents’ beds. We break doors, we break glasses, we break mirrors. One day, got a time to thinking about, ‘Hey, what about if we can wrestle at WWE? Can you imagine a one-on-one or dream matches we talk about?’ It’s here. On Monday Night Raw next week, and of course if my brother won the match, I will be happy for him and I’ll be happy for me because I know I did my best. Every time I step in the ring, I always do my best because I love my job. I love what I do. This is big feel for me and for my brother, so, that’s why I know it’s gonna be great match. I always say that I am the best opponent of my brother and my brother is my best opponent.”

Before their tourney final bout, Penta, Fenix and Dragon Lee are teaming up on August 30th at AAA Ola de Calor to take on Perros del Mal (Daga, Angel & Berto).
