At GCW Melee in Manchester on July 12, Richard Holliday left his boots in the ring, which indicates that a wrestler is retiring.
Holliday has continued to wrestle on the independents and will return to GCW on September 25.
Speaking to Gabby Laspisa on Gabby AF, Holliday commented on the viral moment.
“That was really quite the day on the internet when I did leave my boots in the ring. For a while, I didn’t want to talk about it when people had asked, but I am finally ready to speak about it. Unfortunately, I can’t break any news. I’m doing it on my own and I will be doing it on my own personal social media this weekend, probably Saturday. Don’t hold a match to me on that. It could be Sunday. It’s going to be on the weekend, for sure.
