MVP Reveals Current AEW Contract Takes Him Through 57 Years Old

Details about the long-term contract extension that MVP signed.
In late 2025, MVP shared the news that he inked a long-term contract extension with All Elite Wrestling.
The Hurt Syndicate member shared details about that deal on an episode of Marking Out with MVP & Dwayne Swayze. The 52-year-old stated that his current contract takes him through the age of 57.
“MVP is my job. It’s not my existence. So, I don’t have a problem walking away from MVP, because I’ll always be MVP. I’ll always be that MVP. ‘Oh man, I watched you when I was a kid.’ ‘Hey, thanks, man.’ But I don’t need that validation. The money? Yeah, of course. But even then, at 52, I’m not making the same money that I was when I was 35. I’m still making a lot of money. But now, I have a different role now, and I’m very comfortable with the role… currently, my contract takes me through 57, and I could be a manager, a mouthpiece, consultant, contributor in other ways for a long time, and I probably wouldn’t mind doing that.”
When it comes to his in-ring career, MVP is confident that his final match is coming soon.
“Let’s be real, I’m 52, and I don’t wanna sprint back-and-forth across the ring and I don’t wanna get powerbombed and chokeslammed at this stage. I don’t wanna do that, and I don’t take bookings for matches anymore. I’m not officially retired, but that’s coming. I’m thinking probably next year… I will have my final match. I’m pretty confident that my final match is coming soon. But even then, on these last few shows or whatever that I have, taking an independent booking, people ain’t looking for MVP to go out there and put on a 20-minute, five-star Meltzer match. They wanna see MVP come out, do some swag, do the Ballin’ elbow. They wanna see the hits.”
AEW All In took place on August 30th, and The Hurt Syndicate’s Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin were in action. MVP was not present due to a visa issue.
