Hartley Jackson Opens Up About Being Emotional For Ryohei Oiwa’s NJPW G1 Climax Victory
Hartley Jackson got to witness Ryohei Oiwa’s growth.
The winner of the 2026 NJPW G1 Climax tournament was Ryohei Oiwa. Oiwa’s stablemates in T.M.D.K., Zack Sabre Jr., Hartley Jackson and Kosei Fujita were ringside to see him win the tourney final over Yuya Uemura.
Jackson appeared on Midnight Kingdom and opened up about the emotions he was feeling after Oiwa’s victory.
“(Ryohei) Oiwa’s win at the G1 was absolutely fantastic and to be a part of his journey through that was amazing.” Jackson continued, “Oh yeah (I was emotional). I mean, I’ve seen him grow up so much in the last two years and even through this G1 series, to see how he was at the start, to how he was at the finals, was a complete transformation.”
Oiwa will be getting his shot at the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at King of Pro-Wrestling in October. He will face the winner of Yota Tsuji and Hirooki Goto’s IWGP Heavyweight Title bout at Destruction in Kobe on September 27th.
