AEW Asks For More Time To Serve Ryan Nemeth In Lawsuit, Believe He Is Evading Being Served

New details on the AEW-Ryan Nemeth lawsuit.

According to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, AEW asked for more time to serve Ryan Nemeth. AEW believes he’s evading being served. Magistrate Judge Barksdale today allowed the extension.

“In the event the defendant and his counsel are monitoring the docket,” the judge warns Nemeth may be responsible for expenses.

Nemeth filed a lawsuit in February 2025 against Tony Khan, AEW, and CM Punk alleging assault, breach of contract, breach of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing and intentional interference with prospective advantage. Fans can read parts of the lawsuit here.

On June 5, AEW filed a petition in the U.S. District Court in the Middle District of Florida to compel Nemeth to arbitrate the dispute at a JAMS administrative office nearest to Duval County, Florida, and be adjudicated under Florida law.

In July, Judge Patricia Barksdale ruled AEW can refile redacted versions along with a new motion to seal. AEW can’t fully seal the contracts, as the company had requested
