Report: Glenn Jacobs (Kane) Viewed As Candidate For Senate Appointment

Glenn Jacobs could be heading to the Senate.

According to a report from Axios, Glenn Jacobs, known to wrestling fans as Kane, is viewed as a candidate for appointment to the Senate.

The appointment could occur if Senator Marsha Blackburn wins the Governor of Tennessee race.

Blackburn’s team has shot down suggestions that she’s forming a short list for the job.

“She has been very clear there will be no discussions about a potential replacement until the appropriate time,” her campaign manager Abigail Sigler tells Axios, adding that Blackburn is only focused on winning in November.

Jacobs served eight years as mayor of Knox County in Tennessee before his term ended at the beginning of September.

Blackburn is a heavy favorite in the governor’s race. Should she win the Senate seat would be vacant and the job of appointing an interim would belong to Blackburn.

The person appointed to the seat would serve a partial term until the next statewide election in 2028.
