NJPW’s Taichi Presenting Wrestling Show At His Old Middle School

A special event hosted by Taichi.

For the second consecutive year, New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Taichi will host a wrestling show at his old middle school.

One of the matches on the card will see Taichi and a partner take on Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Naomichi Marufuji and a partner.

Below is NJPW’s write-up about the event:

“One of the most memorable moments of last autumn was the sight of Taichi hosting a card in his old middle school alma mater in Hanakawa, Hokkaido. The unique event saw first-time matchups and combinations from within and outside NJPW never before seen, and was such a success that the Holy Emperor will be doing it again this October!

On October 17, Taichi will present Old School Pro-Wrestling, with the old school being literal, and with a massive matchup added to the card already. Taichi and a mystery partner will be taking on the Pro-Wrestling NOAH Naomichi Marufuji and a partner of his own choosing.

When Suzuki-Gun was terrorizing NOAH through 2015 and 2016, Marufuji and Taichi were often locked together in tag team competition. That competition would grow quiet until All Together in Sapporo in the summer of 2024, when Taichi, Yuya Uemura and SANADA got the win over Marufuji, Kento Miyahara and Hiroshi Tanahashi. With success for Taichi already secured in his home prefecture, will he be victorious in his hometown and own school?”

As matches are added to the card, we’ll update you here on Fightful.
