The September 11th edition of Friday Night SmackDown emanated from Mexico City, Mexico. The main event saw Sami Zayn defeat CM Punk to become a two-time Undisputed WWE Champion.

Corey Brennan of Fightful Select reported that the match was produced by Bobby Roode and Shawn Daivari.
