Roman Reigns Defeats Penta To Retain World Heavyweight Championship On 9/14 WWE Raw
Roman Reigns takes down Penta in Mexico City.
This week’s episode of WWE Raw was headlined by a huge match for the World Heavyweight Championship, as Penta challenged Roman Reigns for the title. Penta earned the right to challenge Reigns after winning an eight man tournament that began back in August.
As expected, Penta entered the arena to one of the biggest reactions of his career. Reigns, however, made his entrance to a chorus of loud boos, with a few cheers mixed in.
With multiple near falls, the Mexico City crowd really bought into the idea of a Penta win. But in the end, the ‘OTC’ prevailed to retain his title. The finish of the match came when Reigns delivered a Superman Punch to Penta while he attempted a springboard maneuver. Reigns then speared Penta to score the pinfall win.

This was the first time that Reigns has defended a championship on television since June 2022.
