The recovery process of wrestlers has long been a topic of discussion amongst fans and wrestlers alike, with medication proving to be an addictive crutch for many talents over the years. For one AEW talent, they are well aware of these issues, and has actively avoided medication unless absolutely necessary.

While speaking to Hot 97 in a recent interview, Swerve Strickland spoke about his recovery process, noting that he avoids taking pills and medications as much as possible, opting for other remedies.

“There is no real recovery. Just heating pad, ice, lay down. I try to avoid avoid pills as much as possible  because I want to try to find some remedy that doesn’t require medication or like abusing it or you know?  Heating pad… I don’t smoke, I never smoked so. There’s a lot of wrestlers, for a long time, it was outlawed. Like, you’d get popped for tests and stuff like that. Now it’s regular. It’s, like, oh, okay. I understand it. I get it. It’s just not for me.”

Elsewhere in the same interview, Swerve reflected on being powerbombed by Hangman Page on a cinder block. You can read more about that here.
