Dark Silueta Says El Satanico’s Retirement Show Was ‘A Very Emotional Night’

Dark Silueta reflects on the night her mentor, El Satanico, retired from the world of professional wrestling earlier this year.

In March of this year at the Homenaje a Dos Leyendas event in Arena México, El Satánico would bring a close to his in ring career. In the final match of his in ring career, he would defeat defeated Atlantis and Blue Panther in a three-way elimination match. Now, one of his protégé’s has spoken about his retirement.

While speaking to Fightful’s Luis Pulido in a new interview, Dark Silueta would speak about El Satánico’s retirement, noting that it was a ‘very emotional night.’

“It was a very emotional moment. I love my “Satanic” coach so much—because, as I’ve always said, even though there were other coaches, he’s the one who shaped Dark Silueta; he’s the one who made her and gave her the encouragement she needed both to become a tough wrestler and to come knocking on doors in Mexico City and ask for that opportunity to be part of the Mexico City roster. So being at this tribute event and his retirement. For me, I didn’t know how to put it into words, but we were there, and every word Julio César (Rivera) said in the ring gave me goosebumps, and I did shed a tear or two because it really is very emotional knowing that your coach is now retired. Well, I mean, he’ll still be with you. We still go and train with him at Arena Coliseo in Guadalajara, but there won’t be that great rudo in the ring anymore, giving a master class to all the wrestlers, just watching him and enjoying what he did in the ring. So, yeah, it was a very emotional night at that Homenaje a Dos Leyendas.”
