Tony Khan Confirms Mercedes Moné Was Supposed To Wrestle At AEW All Out, Expects Her Back In Action In October

Mercedes Moné is expected to be back in October.

It was at AEW’s 2026 All In pay-per-view that Mercedes Moné defeated Willow Nightingale to become the new AEW Women’s World Champion.

During the bout, Moné suffered a broken nose, and although she’s been on television, she has not gotten physical.

AEW President Tony Khan was asked about Moné’s status during the All Out media call. He confirmed that Moné’s injury changed plans for All Out, adding that she was supposed to wrestle at the pay-per-view. He stated that he is certain she’ll be good to go in October.

“Yeah. A lot,” Khan responded when asked if Mercedes Moné’s broken nose injury changed AEW All Out plans. “Absolutely. Mercedes Moné was originally scheduled to wrestle on AEW All Out, and that’s the nature of wrestling. It’s a hard-hitting sport. There are injuries and just like in all sports, you have to have a deep roster and be able to think on your feet and be flexible, and that’s what’s great about AEW… In Mercedes’ case, it’s not a long, long-term injury. It’s something where she’ll be back. I think she’ll be back next month and I’m almost certain she’ll be back next month. That’s the plan; is for Mercedes to return in October. That’s why we have this match on the pay-per-view to determine who will challenge for the World Title at our next pay-per-view, WrestleDream. So Mercedes’ injury did affect plans. She was originally set to wrestle at AEW All Out and I think she very much wants to wrestle on Saturday, but the doctors have not cleared her.”

At All Out, Willow Nightingale and Thekla will go one-on-one to determine who will challenge Moné for the belt at WrestleDream.
