Rohan Raja Talks About Upcoming Match With Andrade At MLP Northern Rising: ‘Win Or Lose, I’ve Made A Statement. If He Loses, He Loses Everything’

Rohan Raja shares his reaction to Andrade accepting his open challenge for MLP Northern Rising.

Earlier in September, Rohan Raja issued an open challenge to all luchadores. His challenge was later accepted by AEW’s Andrade El Idolo. They’ll have a match on October 3 for the AEW National Championship at MLP Northern Rising.

Speaking with Joel Pearl of Fightful and WORKING, Raja shared his immediate reaction to Andrade accepting his challenge.

“I knew I was going to have a marquee match here and I didn’t know who it was going to be. Then I heard ruffles. Heard a few names. As soon as I heard Andrade, I remember saying for years, I was talking to my fiancee, I was like, ‘I would love to get in there with Andrade.’ She would say that to me, too. So when he answered my challenge, that’s when I found out. That’s when I was like, okay, this is where I can really put it up another gear. I don’t like the guy. We’ve had disagreements over the weeks on TV, but he is one of the best wrestlers. He is one of the best. He does all the small things right. His charisma is great. He doesn’t need to say much, as we know. I’m not going to say it, but he really is someone that’s really found his groove. He really is someone that’s at the top right now.

So really, I’m going in there to shock the audience, shock the crowd.  want to take that belt and I’ll go on Collision next week or I won’t even bring it back to AEW. I want to shock the world, and I want to showcase myself. But win or lose, I’ve made a statement. If he loses, he loses everything.”
