John Cena Feels CM Punk & Cody Rhodes Are Putting Pressure On Themselves That They Don’t Need

Candid comments from Cena about CM Punk and Cody Rhodes.

As 17-time WWE World Champion John Cena is on a press run to promote Matchbox: The Movie, he stopped by Busted Open.

During the chat, Cena spoke about the desires and pressure that top talent put on themselves. He brought up CM Punk’s obsession with main eventing WrestleMania and Cody Rhodes’ focus on being QB1. He thinks both have carried weight that they don’t need.

“Where people get caught up is like, I love (CM) Punk, and his obsession with main eventing WrestleMania, I think, is a weakness, and I think if you talk to him now, he evolves as a human being. Every time I see him, he evolves as a man. That’s only my personal preference. I think he’s carrying a weight he doesn’t need. That’s all — not a weakness. I think he’s carrying a weight he doesn’t need. As far as Cody (Rhodes) wanting to be this thing, but you’re carrying a weight you don’t need. Just do great work and the people will show up.”

On WWE TV, Rhodes is engaged in a feud with Randy Orton. CM Punk is gearing up to compete in the men’s Money in the Bank Ladder match.
