Brian Cage: Aaron Rodgers Openly Talked About Wrestling In High School While Others Were Closet Fans
Brian Cage graduated in the class of 2002 from Pleasant Valley High School in Chico, California. While he is a very famous alumnus, he’s not even the most famous alumnus from his class as Aaron Rodgers was also class of 2002.
Speaking to Voice Of The Indies, Cage recalled attending school with Rodgers.
“Yeah, I was in plenty of classes with him. What I always put over Aaron for is, he was a popular kid in school, I was not. Everyone watched wrestling, but you were also a loser if you watched wrestling, that’s just how it was. Even the people who closely watched it. I was a fan. I wore wrestling shirts. I had DX, NWO, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels shirts. People would try to mock me and make fun of me, then when no one was looking they’d be like, ‘Did you watch Raw last night?’ Aaron was cool because Aaron never faked it. He was like, ‘Did you watch that?’ He would openly talk about wrestling. This guy is a real one. I actually talked to him not too long ago on social media. I love the fact that he speaks his mind so freely. We talked about stuff like that. He’s awesome,” he said.
Cage joked that he was upset that Rodgers got a World Title before him as he was gifted WCW World Title after the Green Bay Packers won Super Bowl XLV.
Rodgers is in the last year of his career as he’s set to retire with the Pittsburgh Steelers following the season.
