BirthRight, Hank & Tank Advance In 2026 NXT Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic
The first round of the Dusty Classic concludes.
The last two first-round matches of the 2026 NXT Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic took place on the October 6th NXT on The CW.
A first tournament match saw Hank and Tank defeat Shido Ash and Viktor Zanov. Hank and Tank will meet The Creed Brothers (Julius Creed & Brutus Creed) in the next round.
The other advertised tournament match was Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux versus Tokyo Bad Boys (Kento & Takuma). Legacy and Van Dux were attacked backstage by the BirthRight faction and were ruled out of the tournament. William Regal, who’s affiliated with BirthRight, approached NXT General Manager Robert Stone as he was looking for a team to fill in. Regal brought up that although Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo and Uriah Connors were bounced from the tournament, fellow BirthRight members Lexis King and Charlie Dempsey were available. Stone was initially hesitant, but he agreed to it.
King and Dempsey went on to defeat Tokyo Bad Boys, and in the next round, they’ll be facing AAA World Tag Team Champions El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno.
