Deonna Purrazzo: ‘My Time In TNA Gave Me The Confidence To Know I Could Lead A Division And Do It Without Compromising Who I Am And What I Stood For’

Deonna Purrazzo says her time in TNA Wrestling shaped her the most as a performer.
While Deonna Purrazzo is currently signed to AEW/ROH, she’s worked for many other wrestling promotions in the past, such as WWE, Lucha Libre AAA, TNA Wrestling, and more.
While speaking with The Ledgera magazine, Purrazzo was asked which period of her career shaped the performer that fans see today. Purrazzo said it was her TNA run, and provided the following explanation:
“My time in TNA/IMPACT shaped me the most. In April/May 2020, I didn’t even know if I wanted to continue to wrestle so when TNA called, I was hesitant. From the moment I walked in the doors on my first day, I felt like I was home. Besides winning 5 World Championships, main eventing countless PPVs and TV shows, for the first time in my career, I had a team of people who wanted to see me succeed and were willing to work alongside me to see me do so. My time in TNA gave me the confidence to know I could lead a division AND do it without compromising who I am and what I stood for.”
Purrazzo worked for TNA from 2014-2017 and then 2020-2023. During her tenure, she would capture the Knockouts World Title three times and have a Knockouts World Tag Team Title reign with Chelsea Green.
Elsewhere in the interview, Purrazzo talked about what a potential match with Athena would mean for her. Fans can read her full comments here.
