Xia Brookside Claims None Of NXT Battle Royal Participants Knew Wren Sinclair Was Disguised As Lady Shani

According to Xia Brookside, no one knew it was Wren Sinclair.

While suspended from WWE NXT, Wren Sinclair snuck into a Battle Royal to determine the next challenger for Kelani Jordan’s NXT Women’s Championship.

Sinclair disguised herself as AAA’s Lady Shani. Sinclair won the match and then revealed herself afterward.

The now-former TNA Knockouts World Champion Xia Brookside, who competed in the Battle Royal, said on Busted Open After Dark that none of the participants knew it was Sinclair. She shared that before the match, it was stated that ‘Shani’ was not that good at English, so the conversations with her were limited. Brookside added that ‘Shani’ was not around for most of the day.

“I was surprised, because I had no idea either,” Brookside said about Wren Sinclair pretending to be Lady Shani. “I had no idea. None of us had any idea for the whole day that that was happening, that that was who that was. None of us. It was very much like, ‘Well, she doesn’t speak English,’ so, ‘Hi.’ That’s it. I was like, ‘OK.’ Found out in the match when everyone else found out, so that was a crazy turn of events. I thought it was great. I thought the reveal was awesome and the fact that none of us knew either just made it even better.” She added, “She wasn’t even there for most of the day and none of us had counted to even notice one was missing.”

NXT General Robert Stone will address Sinclair’s win on the 10/13 NXT.
